Thanks to all those who attended this years AGM conference call. It was an effective meeting with good discussion across a number of important issues for our class, including representation from each of our districts. Apologize for being late in getting this posted, but for those who weren’t able to attend, a couple of key updates everyone should be aware of:
- 2014 Canadians to be held in Atlantic District at Chester Yacht Club.
- Port Credit Yacht Club, Ontario, was awarded the 2016 North Americans, to be held in September. Similar to Newport in 2013/2014 this will be a lead in event to the 2017 Worlds also to be held at PCYC.
- The new membership structure adopted in 2013 was discussed and considered a success. We will continue the structure going forward and do not intend to revisit in the near future. Benefits of the new structure is that it allows for two tiers of membership fee to allow for fees to stay low for boats racing / sailing at the club level only.
- A number of by-law changes were approved. Most significant changes around updating how we allocate World Qualify spots to better align with current membership levels. Also, changed structure of bursaries available for boats traveling to out of district Canadians.
Meeting minutes and updated by-laws may be found on the bottom of the Class Info page. Many thanks to Katie for preparing minutes / financials and for her continued service as our Class Secretary/Treasurer.
